Having the glands removed changed my life - I had tried all the products for years (and was a clean freak - it is a clincal condition, nothing to do with hygiene at all). If the problem is affecting your life get the operation - the physical scars are nothing compared to the emotional scars caused by excessive sweating and odour (and people\'s insensitivity to sufferers of it). I love my scars because they remind me of when my life restarted - just wish i\'d had it done earlier to avoid so much emotional stress - had been near suicidal at times because of it.

<>The best preventative here is frequent and thorough bathing. I doubt very much that one could find a (legitimate) doctor who would remove sweat glands for that reason.

Before having the sweat glands removed, see a dermatologist about having Botox injected in to the areas of excessive sweating. Supposedly it paralyzes the glands. However, because it is Botox, it will not last forever, but I think it's a better solution than surgery.

To the person who commented about bathing (you are an idiot by the way): Some people just sweat more than others. It's not a matter of hygiene. Sweat and heat create the perfect environment for bacterial growth and that is what causes the odor. More sweat/heat = more bacteria = more odor.

There are deodorants that contain something like aluminum chlorid that "zaps" the sweat glands under your arms. It's burns a little but the gain is NO more sweat ever! Worked like a charm on my dad who used to sweat like an animal, and a friend of mine. They are bone dry even after vigorous excercise!

Yerka is one of them!
